Rounding up the last couple of months, and what a lovely couple of months it has been!
So grab a cuppa and settle in for a nice read, or flip through the photos below if that’s more up your alley!

What photography means to me?
I recently shared a blog post about what photography means to me, in said blog, I chatted about the evolution of my cameras. My editor [my Mum], went digging through the archives to find some pictures from when I was younger, they’re shared below! One is from Sheridan Lake where my Mum’s side of the family would go every summer to spend a week together, this particular visit was in August of 1998. The second is 2012. Lou and I were visiting Canada, my Mum had come up to Quesnel [where I’m from], my sister had just given birth to my niece and I was trying to capture some moments. I hope you enjoy this walk down memory lane.

Also shared a blog of 100 Small Businesses to love, if you haven’t had a chance, you can read it here. Make sure to leave a comment so that we can see some of your favourite businesses!

Celebrating TJ and Lisa!
We had the chance to celebrate TJ [my brother-in-law] and Lisa’s [soon to be sister-in-law] engagement last month and it was such a lovely afternoon celebrating a wonderful couple. Good friends, good food and fantastic music. They asked if I could bring my camera along for some candids, something I hadn’t done before, but it was a real blast. Different to move the camera from landscapes, animals, and goofy everyday moments in our house, to create moments with others. I put a few sneak peeks below if you’re interested! And sending another huge congratulations to the happy couple! Can only imagine what the wedding will be like…

Keeping up with some personal news, I got my visa!
The application process started years [no exaggeration] ago, and it’s finally happened, earlier this month my visa was granted and I am allowed to remain in Australia for another 5 years… The moment I received the news Lou and I were jumping around like giddy school girls. The amount of relief that was lifted from my shoulders was instant, and I am so grateful to be allowed to remain in this country. It also means that when the world opens up a little more, I won’t need to apply for another visa to be able to leave the country, I’ll simply be able to get on a plane, go home to visit my family, and come back without concern. Relief on so many layers!

NEW to the shop, greeting cards!
I am very happy to report that this creative business is now offering greeting cards, and they are already going gangbusters! Beautiful, 100% recycled paper with the most beautiful texture. I take a lot of pride in everything I create, and these cards are no different, they have been tried, tested, and are ready to put out into the world. There are a few prints on offer now, with occasional additions when I feel the time is right. I hope you love them and consider them the next time you’re looking to send some snail mail.

I also dropped a handful of new images in the print shop, if you haven’t had a chance to check them out, head here!

Meet ‘our cat,’ Milo…
First things first, not our cat. But he comes around to our house daily, has a favourite chair, demands attention, and pretty much acts as though our space, is his. He dribbles when he purrs and takes more water breaks than any other cat I’ve met. Mind you, he’s not all that bright, yesterday he attacked his own tail for about 12 minutes so… Anyways, he’s adorable and affectionate, and we’re grateful to have such an affordable pet. Last thing, doesn’t he remind you of toothless from How to Train Your Dragon? … Last, last thing, if you haven’t seen the movie, it’s time.

7-day Lockdown
As I write this, we find ourselves 3 days into a 7-day lockdown [for now, the same rules as last time only 2 hours out of the house to exercise, stay within 5kms of our home, 1 person out a day for essentials]. Lou is in the city for recruit training, so I have some time to myself. I looked to the last time I wrote a monthly catch-up and noticed that within it I wrote about the 5-day lockdown we were in at the time. Glad these lockdowns have been so infrequent but for now, they certainly are a part of our new “normal”. Automatically found myself slipping into the same habit, let’s make the most of this! So, I write blog posts, edit photos, edit the website, I’ve been sewing [currently working on a colourful mini-wall hanging], punch needling, and spending lots of time with Milo [see above]. I still have my full-time job 4 days a week, and make sure to get out to exercise and get fresh air each day. Also, taking advantage by watching old 90’s movies, and Harry Potter for the umpteenth time… May as well keep myself entertained right?

Let’s wrap things up here, and cheers to another great month ahead.
Wherever you are, I hope life is treating you well!
